I am a Bristol (UK) based nature photographer, with a particular interest in photographing trees. Thank you for visiting my website, I hope you enjoy viewing the selected images as much as I've enjoyed taking them!

The Forest Of Dean in Gloucestershire has long been my source of inspiration, drawing me back again and again. The challenge in a forest is to not only interpret the tones, the textures and the chaos that confronts you there, but to also convey a sense of mood and emotion. With this in mind, together with a strong feeling that I wanted to present the forest in a way never seen before, I began experimenting with 'Intentional Camera Movement' (ICM). I found I was able to adapt this technique, and by doing so, portray the forest environment as I intended it to be seen rather than, as in so many woodland photographs, a literal depiction of what was in front of me.

Structurally many of my images use the repeating vertical tree trunks to provide a visual anchor, allowing the viewer to then explore the surrounding chaos, and enjoy the abstract form that the ICM creates. Variations in luminosity and colour are often used to help guide the viewers eye through an image, and provide depth to a scene.

All of my images are available to purchase as high quality prints or for licensing purposes. I also welcome commissioned work. Feel free to contact me via email on my 'Contact' page, to discuss any ideas, answer any questions or simply to leave feedback.
